Frequently asked questions

Below you will find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.

We build custom cabinets that some people categorize as “European” or “full overlay” but we prefer to call them “full access” cabinets utilizing what we believe is the best selection of hardware and materials available today. The exterior style of the cabinet, whether traditional or contemporary, is determined by the door style and finish used.

Much like a general contractor uses subcontractors, Ancom Custom Cabinets will outsource certain parts of the cabinets we fabricate when it make sense. The selection of door and dovetail drawer styles available to us from Conestoga combined with the exceptional quality of their product make it possible for us to offer a wider range of styles at a competitive price.

No. We specialize in the design, fabrication, and installation of custom cabinets. We will work closely with your general contractor to insure that the project flows smoothly and to resolve any issues that may surface.

New customers generally call first to discuss their project, then fax or e-mail us a plan or drawing with some dimensions to work with. From this information we can generate a very accurate estimate of the cost of your job. If this cost is something we can both live with we move onto the design phase. At this time we will require a small retainer, equal to about 5% of the total job, to cover the costs of providing drawings and of site visits if necessary. This deposit is fully applied towards the purchase price of your cabinets.

Lead times are sometimes as short as four weeks but can be as long as twelve weeks depending on the size and complexity of your project. The average is about six to eight weeks. From the very beginning we will be honest and upfront about the delivery date of your job.
